Objectives of PYR Test To determine the ability of organism to produce L-pyrrolidonyl arylamidase enzyme. It aids in the presumptive identification of group A streptococci (Streptococcus pyogenes) and Enterococci by the presence of the enzyme L-pyrrolidonyl arylamidase.
